PACE DIAL A RIDE

Vernon Township, in conjunction with Pace, operates a 10 passenger bus to provide transportation to all township residents.  The bus is equipped with a wheelchair lift and provides room for two wheelchairs.  The service operates Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:30 am to 3:30 pm.  There is no weekend or holiday service. 

The Vernon Township sponsored bus provides service only between the township boundaries.  The north boundary is Route 60 (Townline Road; the south boundary is Lake Cook Road.  The east boundary runs along the tollway (IL Route 94) and the west boundary is Diamond Lake Road. One way fares are $2.00 for adults, $1.00 for seniors over 65 or disabled, $1.00 for students and children over 7, children under 7 are free when accompanied by a fare paying adult. 

Arrangements for pickups must be made at least 24 hours in advance and may be made for reoccurring services.  Every effort is made to schedule rides although the Township appreciates your being flexible as our bus is quite popular. The Dial A Ride bus is available to take residents to locations within the township such as doctor and therapy appointments as well as grocery shopping, general shopping and beauty and barber shops.
