Low Income Energy Assistance Program

We will be accepting applications for low income families for the 2013 Winter Heating Program. The applications will be accepted by appointment only at Vernon Township beginning November 13, 2012.  Appointment times vary.  We will continue to take appointments as long as the grant money is available.

Please bring ORIGINAL documents for the following (no copies).

Rental lease or Lake County Housing Agreement

Current Electric and Gas bill (if you pay gas).  Utility bill must be in applicants name or head of household and within 30 days of appointment date.

Social Security card for each member of the household.

Proof of income for the last 30 days, i.e.: wages, Social Security, SSI, unemployment, child support or any other source of income.  Acceptable income documentation:

•2012 Social Security Award Letter

•Unemployment – Copy of Payment Detail Screen

•Pay Check Stubs

Medicaid Cards for each person that receives Medicaid

Any household member 18 and over claiming zero income must provide documentation (such as school records, food stamp letter or medical disability application and fill out a zero income affidavit).
